Goodbye Looking at the Sky on Friday

It is with a sad heart that I post that I am hanging up my Looking at The Sky on Friday hat.  It has been a great run, but time just does not permit me to host a meme as I should.  I do not have time to visit others and I do not think it is fair to host a meme and not visit the participants.  It has been 3 weeks since I posted a McLinky to a LATSOF post and nobody has comment or e-mailed, so I think it is safe to say that the meme has run it's course.  Please accept my deepest and greatest gratitude when I say THANK YOU to those of you who participated, whether it was once, twice, or every week.  I appreciate you and I am very sorry that I might not have gotten around to reciprocate a visit.
Maybe some day in the future, I will try to host it again but right now my family is top priority and I can no longer fit LATSOF into my busy schedule.

So are you eating a turkey sandwich as you read this post? I trust that everyone had a great holiday and ate way more than one consume in a week much less in one day. I have so much to be thankful for and each and every participant in LATSOF is one of those reasons. Thank you all so much for your support and great photos each week. Looking @ The Sky on Friday

Today I'm pulling from the photo archives because I feel like this photo has relevance to my life as of late.  Things have been difficult for us lately.  Without going into the grueling details, I'm sure of that many of you have had things much worse.  Through lots of prayer and faith in Jesus Christ, and our marriage, we've survived the last few months.  This is not to say that we did not worry and our nails weren't bitten wondering what would happen next, but we have made it through and will continue to do so.  We have our health and we have each other.  The rest of the things are material and we will not take them with us when we leave this world and walk on streets of gold.  So, in my humble opinion they are irrelevant!  Back to the photo:  dark clouds all around, and a sliver of light is peeking through.  Never forget, my friends that there will always be an answer from God.  It may not be as timely as you'd like and it certainly may not be in the form that you wish for it to be, but it will be there.  Have no doubts.  This too, shall pass and the storm will soon be over!

I snapped this shot as we were making our way through the corn maze two weekends ago at the pumpkin patch. Oh what fun we had getting lost in the corn. Although the men who were leading us through the maze would surely say we were never lost, and would most definitely NOT admit that they stopped and asked for directions! True story.

Tyler visited the pumpkin patch today and while he was playing on the tire dragon, I snapped this photo and I just loved the way the sun's rays were captured! Even though the sun was shining brightly, the northerly winds made it quite cool as the kiddos were playing. What are your plans for the weekend? I hope everyone has an enjoyable one. Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night! Thanks to Magical Mystical Teacher for the reminder that Daylight Savings is not until NEXT weekend!!!

God's Promise
We got some MUCH NEEDED rain on Tuesday. As I was taking the kids in to school this was shining down on us. What a blessing the rain was. It was much needed and reminded me of God's love for us. Something I needed to reflect on for sure.

On The Road Again...

It has been a whole week since I have posted here. My poor blog seems to be as neglected as so many other aspects of my life these days. Life just seems to be moving at such a fast pace and I seem to have no time for anything that takes more than a couple of minutes. This is the first time I've had to sit down at a computer (not doing work) in over a week! Last week there was a death in the family resulting in 17 hours of driving to attend the funeral. The upside to that was visiting with family that I rarely see. This photo was taken as we were leaving Houston on Tuesday afternoon. The trip was bitter sweet and I found myself a bit emotional when I had to leave the family that I had been so close to as a child. Life is short and nothing is guaranteed. I realized this week that if there is something in your life that you are putting off, no matter what it is you should do it now. You are not promised tomorrow. THAT is a guarantee!

I LOVE FALL!!! This time of the year is so amazing and the weather this week has been fabulous. I shot this photo Saturday night. The sun had the sky ablaze and I couldn't resist. They didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but here you go nonetheless.

LATSOF - Horseback

The skies were beautifully blue after the parade downtown on Monday to kick off the 2010 White County Fair in Searcy, Arkansas. The older two kids rode horseback in the fair parade while Emily spectated with her father and I. Afterward when we went to pick up Tyler and Shelby she hopped on with Papaw and trotted down the street and back. She was a bit apprehensive at first but on the way back she was all smiles.  I hope you've had a great week and blue skies!  Don't forget to sign Linky Tools if you're participating this week.  Have a beautiful weekend!

This was the view from my back yard this morning as the sun was rising! It was a beautiful morning with a bit of an overcast sky creeping in, so I was glad to be able to capture this image. It's getting to the time of the year where the weather is pleasant and one can stand to be outside and snap photographs! I am getting excited about fall! Hope you are too. Looking at the Sky on Friday

Although the focal point of this photo is obviously not the sky I have not had much time to do sky photographing as of late and even if I did who wants to go out in the heat to do so?! This photo was taken by my father in law while he and Tyler were on a trail ride and I liked the shot. Since there was a piece of the sky, I thought I'd post it here rather than putting nothing.

School started back on Thursday and it's been a busy week here. I'm hoping that things will get back to "normal" real soon. If you're curious how Tyler's first day of kindergarten went, scroll down one post and read all about the horrific experience! *sniff* I'm STILL crying...
