Looking at the Sky on Friday

Photobucket
Photobucket
Tyler visited the pumpkin patch today and while he was playing on the tire dragon, I snapped this photo and I just loved the way the sun's rays were captured! Even though the sun was shining brightly, the northerly winds made it quite cool as the kiddos were playing. What are your plans for the weekend? I hope everyone has an enjoyable one. Don't forget to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night! Thanks to Magical Mystical Teacher for the reminder that Daylight Savings is not until NEXT weekend!!!

I'm Tisha Black and I Approve This Message!

PhotobucketI will be SO glad when voting is over next Tuesday, November 2. I am so sick of the political ads, billboards, signs, and phone calls!

The other night the business phone kept ringing and ringing during dinner. Finally when we finished, I assumed someone had a leaking toilet, or flooded basement, since my husband is a plumber.  Nope, it was someone calling from a political campaign asking for our vote!

Swim the Ocean with Disneynature

Photobucket
Disney has taken us previously taken us under the sea with Ariel and Nemo, but Disneynature presents Oceans as a Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu- ray + DVD) as you've never seen the sea before! This film puts you right in the action as whales and dolphins leap through the air, sea lions and sea turtles bask on the beach, and coral reef comes to life. This is not your 5th grade Science class under water doccumentary. The film makers captured mesmerizing footage using the most technologically-advanced equipment that has allowed them to bring this to true high-definition powers! Oh, and in case I haven't reeled you in yet, I'll tell ya that Pierce Brosnan is the ever so captivating narrator.

We sat down and put this movie in and I was fully prepared for a nap, but once the movie started I quickly realized that myself nor my children would be napping. Instead we popped some popcorn and watched the movie in it's entirety. Hubby came in at the end of the movie and got interested in it, so we started it over and watched it again. The kids LOVED it and so did we! It is a great movie and a wonderful way to teach our children why we have to protect our wild life! The DVD had the "Make A Wave" Disney's Friends For Change Music Video Featuring Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato!

This DVD is available now from Disneynature DVD. For more information on this title or other Disneynature or Disney titles, you can click the box art above. To see the Oceans Trailer, click below.

Coke and Peanuts

Click to play this Smilebox slideshow
I first posted this slide show back in January of 2008. I was cleaning out some files and ran across it and thought it too cute not to re-share with those of you who didn't read CrAzY Working Mom back then. The first thing I noticed was how much the kids have GROWN in two years. Obviously this was before Emily was even born. I cannot imagine life before then. I actually had time to take photos of the kids doing things like putting peanuts in their Coke! But, I digress. I remember getting comments from Sarge Charlie who said he loves putting them in his Coke and added that it must be a southern thing (or is that thAng?) Dessert Songbird who said she'd never EVER in her life heard such. So tell me, how do you prefer your peanuts?

Conversations with Tyler

PhotobucketMy five year old son has been featured on this blog since he was able to utter his first words.  Since then he's kept us all in stitches with his witty banter.  These days, it seems as though Emily has given Tyler a run for his money in that department, but yesterday didn't disappoint and gave me some "blog material".

We were all laying around watching the morning cartoons and Tyler joined me on my couch.  Somehow he ended up with his hand in my armpit.  He was rubbing and he jumped up and said, "Mom you have whispers under your arm?!?!?"  Yes, son I have "whiskers" under my arm.  I need to shave.  He then asked if I had them growing out my nose like Dad.  Fortunately, I don't have that problem.

God's Promise
We got some MUCH NEEDED rain on Tuesday. As I was taking the kids in to school this was shining down on us. What a blessing the rain was. It was much needed and reminded me of God's love for us. Something I needed to reflect on for sure.

CrAzY Working Mom, that's me!!!

These days it seems like the only time I get to relax is if I can slip off to the restroom when no one's watching! Seriously, life is so crazy for us right now that I cannot imagine how hard it will be once Emily starts school. I had to break down and buy a day planner because I was forgetting too many things. I try to keep everything in my calendar on my blackberry so that I will always have it at my fingertips as well because I don't usually go anywhere without it. Every single day last week was filled with something. After a 9 hour drive back from Texas, I had field trips to the fire station two days in a row. Once with my 2nd grader and once with my Kindergartner. Saturday was the Race For The Cure followed by a birthday party for my nephew. It's never ending with school activities, after school activities, church functions, doctor and dental appointments, etc. I am so very blessed to have a family to keep me busy. What would I do otherwise?!?!

Maybe enjoy something like this?!?!
Naaaa...fuhgetaboutit!!! Back to reality. It's almost time to go pick the kids up from school!!!

17th Annual Susan G Komen Race For The Cure - Arkansas

breast cancer,Susan G Komen,Race For The Cure,Arkansas,Hanes,CrAzY Working Mom
Today, I proudly participated for the first time as a Team Captain in the 17th Annual Susan G Komen Race For The Cure - Arkansas! I walked 3 miles with some of my closest friends and family. I want to send a HUGE shout out to Hanes who sponsored our team shirts. We proudly sported the Hanes Passionately Pink For A Cure Logo on our shirts this year. Walking with over 45,000 women in this amazing event is such an honor. To see so many people banding together for one cause...a wonderful cause is so very touching. There were women of all ages participating in the race and men of all ages on the sidelines cheering us on! What a privilege it was to have worked hard to help raise $1,335 toward this awesome cause. I want to thank each and every girl who came out to walk with us in the Race For The Cure today and those of you who worked diligently to collect donations on your own and at Get Down Downtown where we raised $1,000. We had 39 team members to register for the race and of those 39 members, 24 showed up to walk and 3 came to run! We completed the entire 3 miles.  Unfortunately we never got to meet up with our runners. I can't imagine why in a crowd of 45,000+ people we could not find three women! (grin) A couple of my favorite shirts/signs said: "Squeeze a Boobie, Stop the war in My Rack" "Save 2nd Base". I have put together a slide show of some of the fun we had. Hope you have time to take a look at it. Thanks to everyone who helped make Team CrAzY For A Cure so much fun. You ladies are truly a blessing in my life and I am so excited to have experienced such a wonderful thing with you all. I am already planning next year's fun!!!

On The Road Again...

It has been a whole week since I have posted here. My poor blog seems to be as neglected as so many other aspects of my life these days. Life just seems to be moving at such a fast pace and I seem to have no time for anything that takes more than a couple of minutes. This is the first time I've had to sit down at a computer (not doing work) in over a week! Last week there was a death in the family resulting in 17 hours of driving to attend the funeral. The upside to that was visiting with family that I rarely see. This photo was taken as we were leaving Houston on Tuesday afternoon. The trip was bitter sweet and I found myself a bit emotional when I had to leave the family that I had been so close to as a child. Life is short and nothing is guaranteed. I realized this week that if there is something in your life that you are putting off, no matter what it is you should do it now. You are not promised tomorrow. THAT is a guarantee!

Beauty & The Beast The Diamond Edition

Photobucket
One of my favorite Disney Classics is Beauty and the Beast.  Unavailable in any form since 2003, Beauty and the Beast will be released from the Disney vault for a limited time only, arriving on a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack (2 Blu-ray Discs + DVD) October 5  Today, Disney is opening the vault and it will be available for purchase on Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack! Beauty and The Beast is the first of only two animated films ever to be nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Picture (in case you were wondering, the second is 2009’s Up), Beauty and the Beast earned six Academy Award® nominations and won two Oscars® in 1992 for Best Original Song (“Beauty and the Beast”) and Best Original Score.

Beauty and The Beast is Disney’s most requested film and my all time favorite! The Blu-ray transformation
reveals the magic, music and majesty of the film as never before experienced with state-of-the-art picture restoration, pristine 7.1 Digital Surround Sound and hours of additional viewing experiences that includes behind the scenes features, deleted scenes, enhanced music tracks, immersive games and more.

When we received this DVD for review, I was excited to watch it and my kids informed me that they'd never seen it!  I was floored when I realized that I had deprived my children from the experience of seeing this Disney film, which just so happens to be one of my favorites!!!  We have it on VHS, and I guess we just never watch those old VHS tapes anymore.  The kids never even open up that cabinet when choosing a movie.  This movie did not disappoint, as each and every member of my family enjoyed watching.  Beauty and The Beast is a timeless classic that will live on for generations.  I am so glad that Disney has released it from the vault and I hope that if there are other families out there that do not own this on DVD will upgrade to the Diamond Version of Beauty and The Beast and add it to your collection!
