Buh-Bye Entrecard!

The following has been posted on the Entrecard Blog:

Hello Entrecarders,

We just wanted to update everyone that the sponsor ads will be postponed for another week, until Oct. 5, 2009. When it is implemented, users will have the option to opt out of the sponsor ads program completely for a small fee. For just $50 a year, you can have your widget free of sponsor ads. We have provided this option for those of you who are concerned about the sponsor ads. Thank you for your support.

Cindy

When I signed up for this service it was advertised as a free service. I was excited to be getting more traffic to my blog and found many wonderful new blogs along the way by "dropping ECs". There was a paid ad service implemented by the previous owner of Entrecard. It went over like a lead balloon. There was an availability to opt out so that the hard earned credits of the members were put to good use and their widget was shown 100% of the time. I stuck around as ownership changed hoping that with some employee screening things would change and finally it was announced that paid ads would cease. Things seemed to be getting back to normal and many who had bailed ship before came back.

After reading this, I realize that it is now time to cut all ties with EC. It is no longer in my best interest to stick around. I haven't the time for dropping cards now anyhow. Since we no longer earn credits when someone drops on us, it's pretty much a useless service for me. I refuse to pay $50 to keep them from showing paid ads on MY site.

Adios, Entrecard! I hope that those of you who are still faithfully dropping will stop in from time to time and say hi!

Happy Birthday CallieAnnBrat!!!

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear CallieAnn!!!
Happy Birthday to you!
Now let's cut the cake!

Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland on DVD

Emily is my one year old daughter. She just so happens to LOVE Mickey Mouse. When she hears the theme song to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse she comes running to the television. She loves to hear Mickey talk and gets excited to see "Toodles". We were excited to find that Mickey and his clubhouse friends were starring in the new DVD, from Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mickey's Adventures in Wonderland. In this DVD with a run time of 50 minutes, all of our favorite Clubhouse Characters team up in an adventure to rival Alice's adventure in Wonderland. There are slight similarities between the two, but Mickey's adventure is most definitely his own and not that of Alice's. This DVD is digitally produced, so the quality is crisp and clear. Bonus features include Goofy Goes Goofy (which I think could be the title to the story of my life), and Adventure Mode. This is an interactive feature in which you can watch the movie and utilizing your remote control, aswer questions about the movie as it progresse. This is a very fun way to watch the DVD for children. The only problem I found with this one is that if you have more than one child (that's me!!!) then you might have to do this more than once so everything is fair. Overall we loved this one, but in a house full of Disney fans, that just goes without saying! This DVD is now available.

Today on Disney DVD

Disney hit a home run at our house with this one, Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana. My kids loved this one. It combined three of our favorite hit Disney programs all in one full-length adventure! Justin (Wizards of Waverly Place) wins a contest and embarks on a teen cruise to Hawaii getting to meet London Tipton. Justin has his work cut out for him as Max is trying to catch the attention of the heiress also. Cody tries to win Hannah Montana tickets for Bailey. Miley loses her charm bracelet and the Hannah wig, will her days as Hannah be lost with it? If you're a fan of any of these three shows, this one will surely be a hit. The laughs are non-stop and the pranks are funnier than ever. Someone turns Justin's ENTIRE body blue! This one is definitely an A+ film from Disney. Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana is available TODAY for purchase on Disney DVD. Bonus features include: Justin’s Award-Winning Essay – the essay video that got Justin and his siblings on the S.S. TIPTON Teen Cruise! It’s A Suite Life Having Fun With Hannah & The Wizards – Hilarious bloopers and backstage interviews with the stars!

My daughter is 6 going on 17! She ♥s Jonas brothers. It cracks me up as we watch and she asks me who is my favorite. Just because I am in my thirties (we don't need exact numbers do we???) doesn't mean that I can't have a favorite Jonas brother does it? Shelby was glad to see Jonas: Rockin' the House on Disney DVD. This DVD contains five episodes of the smash hit Jonas Brothers show. These three boys are just trying to live a "normal" life but they have the most dedicated fans in the world and sometimes doing normal things like taking out the trash can call for extreme measures! These guys are always up to something and with their guru fashionista friend Stella at their side, they will be doing it in style, no doubt. Bonus features include two never before seen episodes, "Beauty and the Beat" and "Cold Shoulder". Also included in the Bonus Features is "You've Been Jo-Bro'd - A Funny Prank on their friend Chelsea. This DVD is available today from Disney DVD.

My Story on Health Care

I know that the debate in the US right now over Health Care Reform is very heated. There are lots of folks, like me and my family who are stuck right in the middle...between a rock and a hard place that is. I have always worked since I was a teenager. When Brien and I were married, I always worked at jobs where I could carry the insurance. Brien is a plumber and worked under some of the best plumbers in town, but unfortunately never had the opportunity to carry health insurance. Now we are small business owners. We have, at any given time at least four men (2 with families to support) on our payroll. Up until last year when I had our third child I worked and carried the health insurance for our family. When Emily was born, we took many things into consideration when making the decision for me to quit my job and go to work with Brien at his business as his office manager. He was paying someone else to do the job at the time. I knew that when Emily was born, I would have to consider child care, transportation back and forth from school and daycare for all three children. When we took all of the factors into consideration, we decided that it was in our best interest for me to quit my job. I had the option of taking the COBRA insurance which would continue my current policy for an additional 18 months at a VERY hefty price. This was our decision. After Emily was born, she went to the office with me and I searched diligently for policies that would fit our family's needs. Unfortunately, with the pre-existing conditions of my husband which include sleep apnea, hypertension, and the fact that he smokes no one is willing to insure him. I have found coverage for the children and I, with exclusions of course. I have a rider for Emily, the youngest member of our family who had a round of RSV last winter. I am paying 175% more for her to be on the policy each month with exclusions! Yes, you read that right. They are charging me 175% more for her to be on the policy but anything that is considered "pre-existing" to them, which I am sure will include any type of ear-infection or anything to do with her lungs such as bronchitis, etc since she had ear infections and RSV in the last 12 months.

As I read over this policy, it just scares me to death. For one, when I sign the dotted line and write that big check to them my coverage will end on my current policy thus terminating coverage for my husband, the bread winner of our family as well as 4 other families! I have a sneaky suspicion that after the first visit or two I will start to get provisions in the policy saying that certain things can no longer be covered. I hate this feeling of insecurity. I hate this feeling of the unknown. It scares me that I will have NO coverage for my husband. He is un-insurable. So, now what? What happens if, God forbid he has to be hospitalized or worse?! These fears will always lurk in the back of my mind.

My opinion is that something needs to be done. I just don't know what. Things have gotten out of hand. Medical costs are sky rocketing, but our pocketbooks aren't rising with them. Our business is the slowest we've ever seen it. Most people can hardly make their house payment, let alone call a plumber for a leaky faucet. It's scary times, folks not just for my family but for yours too in one way or another.

At least the lottery will start next month. Maybe I will put in some lucky numbers and become a millionaire and all of these troubles will just disappear. I'll just hire a personal doctor who can see to it that my children stay healthy.

Happy Anniversary, Brien & Tisha!!

My Busy (Sick) But Fun Week!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week, folks. My week in a nutshell:

Monday:

A.M. : Stayed home with Emily took her to the doctor (our doctor was all booked up) so we had to see a partner. Office was packed when we got there. Waited only an hour to see him. Diagnosis: DOUBLE ear infection. Very fussy baby girl all weekend and most of this week.

Afternoon: Fair parade. Tyler rode a horse with his grandpa and threw candy.
When we got ready to leave there we were headed to the fair when Shelby informed me that she felt like she was going to be sick to her stomach. She didn't want to go to the fair. I knew this child must be really ill if she didn't want to go to the fair, so we went home. Lucky for us because as she exited the van, her lunch exited her body. We came in and she spent the remainder of the evening curled up on the couch.

Tuesday: 1:30AM, I had the same visitor that Shelby had Monday afternoon...two fold, both ends!!! I was miserable. I spent the majority of Tuesday morning in the bathroom as my family slept peacefully in their beds. Brien was awakened by Emily around 3:30. I couldn't hold her because I was running back and forth and this did not please her. He got up with her and stayed up with her until he had to be at work at 7. What a man! Thankfully my father in law took over duties from there. He took the younger two while Shelby and I stayed in for the day, hopefully containing our illness to ourselves.

Wednesday was of course a day of catch up for me at the office on billing, payroll, and searching for health and life insurance online since I'd been out all week. I was super busy there and due to the fact that I had been trying to nurse Emily to health all weekend and most of the week, my house look like a tornado had blown through it.

Thursday was an impromptu visit to the County Fair! It was the only night this week that it hadn't been raining or some member of our family wasn't projecting bodily fluids out of one or more orifices. We had an amazing time and of course I took wayyyyyy too many photos as usual.

Emily had her first Turkey leg and funnel cake:

Shelby milked a cow:

Tyler spotted his dream car!
(of course since it's yellow, it's Bumblebee - the Transformer)Of course they played games, had some wonderful fair food, pet the animals in the livestock barn, watched some bull riding and much much more. We will be going back on Saturday (pray for no rain!!!) to ride the rides during arm band day and watch the family favorite - Demolition Derby. Overall it's been a busy week. I will be uploading more pictures later on, but for now I am too pooped. I'm headed to bed. See you all tomorrow for Looking at the Sky on Friday!

Camera Critters

My kids each have one of these in their rooms. They have them in plastic snack baggies. They have two pieces of candy corn in the bag with the shell of a bug - just in case he gets hungry!

A Call to the Nurse - H1N1 or Just a Virus?!

Emily's first week at daycare went smoothly. Better than I had expected. Of course the mornings are hard on us because she does cry. But, on Friday she reached for her teacher. That is a milestone that I hadn't planned on reaching for a while. She did start crying when she took her, but she at least didn't have to pry her from my arms. One good thing about daycare is that she is going to bed with no troubles. She is getting on a schedule and it is benefiting us all.

Unfortunately, she seems to have contracted some sort of stomach bug. Other family members have had it, so I'm not sure it came from daycare. But, she began running fever yesterday morning. She was feverish with a runny nose, and VERY clingy all day. I was a bit worried since the H1N1 virus has caused 5 deaths in the state of Arkansas. I talked to the on call nurse at the clinic yesterday and she said as long as her mucus was not thick and green or her breathing labored then I should just wait it out and bring her in to the clinic on Monday if I thought I needed to. But, if her fever gets up over 103 and we can't get it down then we need to take her to the ER. I did feel better after I spoke to her. Her nose is running clear and in fact today isn't doing much of that. Today she is experiencing some diarrhea, but no vomiting. Hopefully we're on the down hill slope of this illness and maybe since we've taken up stock in the hand sanitizing business no one else will contract this virus. *fingers crossed*

Playing with Apps

I love having wireless internet in my house! It gives me the freedom to do lots of things that I wouldn't otherwise. We can download games and things to our Wii, hubby and I can both be online at the same time via our lap tops. I can also download songs and apps to my ipod with ease, meaning I don't have to connect it to my lap top and sync it up each time I download something! I love that freedom. Yesterday I was playing around with my ipod and went to the app store and downloaded some free apps to my ipod. The kids love to play the tic tac toe game, as well as the matching game. I also downloaded the facebook and twitter application as well as the iphone apartment app. Even though I will probably not live in an apartment anytime in the near future it's still neat that using a GPS signal (on your iphone) this app can let you take your apartment search on the go! You can share listings instantly with family and friends on Facebook, map listings, get directions, and even e-mail the property owners directly. If you're hitting the streets in search of "the" apartment, I would suggest downloading this free app to your iphone!! It's so easy, anyone can do it. Just ask Emily!

9-11 Through the Eyes of My 6 Year Old

On the way home from school, my 1st grader asked me if I wanted to know what she learned at school today. The teacher sends home a synopsis of the weekly tasks that the class will be working to achieve so I am always interested in hearing the explanations of the lessons in her own words so I told her that I most definitely wanted to hear what she learned so she began to explain that today is a special day.

"One time on this day, nine - ten" ,she began.

"Do you mean nine - eleven?" I asked.

"Yes, I mean nine - eleven. One time on this day some people that live in another country did bad things. They drove air planes into big tall buildings. Do you know why they did this, Mommy???"

By this time my curiosity was peaked, so I was anxious to hear her answer. "Why would people do such a horrible thing, sissy?" I asked her.

"Because we have things free here and they don't have free things there. They want to have the free things that we have."

I paused for a minute and then realized that my 6 year old daughter was learning what so many adults in this country take for granted. I elaborated on what she was saying by explaining to her that she was some what right, but that she was talking about freedom and asked her if she knew what freedom meant. We had a bit of a discussion about how men and women in the military help to give us our freedom. That means that we can vote on who we want to be the president, we can read and write what we want. We can also watch what we want on television and listen to whatever we choose on the radio. There are people in other countries that are told what they can watch or not watch and they have no say so in their government. That is why they don't like us. We have what they don't and they don't like that.

"That's not nice to be mad at someone else when they have something you want is it, Mommy? We should all share what we have." Shelby said.

This 6 year old has the world figured out...if only we could all be as smart at this 1st grader. If we could just all share what we have and the world would be a better place.

In a perfect world, a 32 year old mother of three would not be explaining to her 6 year old daughter that before she was born, the worst terrorist attack to take place on US soil occurred. In a perfect world, this mother would not have to further explain the meaning of the word terrorist. It hurts my heart to think that in their lifetime something like this could possibly happen again. No matter how much we protect our children in our homes, these walls only go so far and we can only do so much to protect them. My prayer on this day, a day of remembrance is that the US (or any other country for that matter) never sees another 9-11, EVER. I also extend my prayers and condolences to the families who lost members on this tragic day. Their lives were forever changed that day, just as ours were. We all hugged our loved ones a little bit tighter that night and the weeks following. Let us remember the love we showed for one another in the days and weeks following that event. Let us pay our respects to the fallen heroes of 9-11, the fire fighters, police officers, emergency response workers, as well as the men and women of our armed forces who have sacrificed their lives for another. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. The events of 9-11 will never be forgotten, the good and the bad.

Can Someone Pass the Parenting Instruction Manual, Please?!

Emily made it through her second day away from Mommy in daycare. I got a good report from her teachers saying that she did really well today. Tyler reported that he did not "hear her screaming" in his classroom, so I'm sure that this is a good sign

This is day 5 with no paci or bottle. We're still in it to win it. We had a bit of a set back this morning when Tyler tried to give her one he found. She was crying and he knew that would calm her, so as he was about to put it in her mouth, Shelby caught him and took it away from him. Of course Emily was NOT a happy camper at this point, but there was nothing else that we could do but put it up and let her tantrum pass.

We've been having problems with Tyler since he's moved into the preschool class. He's been fighting and being mean. It's been very trying for me, although not unexpected. He's full of energy. Most of the time he is not being mean, just rough. He doesn't understand that you just can't go around hitting people or pushing people...especially girls. He tried to skewer a classmate with a stick! Last week he was in trouble two days in a row (Wed & Thurs). To punish him, we made him sit in the living room all evening and was not allowed to play outside, in his room, or with any toys. This seemed to get his attention and we got a good report on Friday.  To reward this good behavior, we had a short play at McDonald's on our way home from school.

After the long weekend, he must have forgotten the punishment because yesterday when I asked about his behavior, I was told that he was rowdy again. I would much rather be on one of those Vegas vacations rather than discussing with my child's pre-school teacher how mean he is! I really don't know why this behavior has suddenly began. He's been going to this pre-school for two years and other than a few minor incidents, we've not had any problems out of him. When he got home yesterday, he was informed that he was to sit on the couch and watched out the window as his sister played in the back yard. He was not allowed. He was also not allowed to play with any of his toys. He was nothing short of miserable.

I am happy to report that today when I picked him up that we got another good report. We talked to him about the importance of being good in school and the consequences for bad behavior. I am certain that if he's reminded of this every morning (especially on Mondays or Tuesdays after a long holiday!) then we can stay on top of this and hopefully not have to hear how bad he was during his day.

It never ceases to amaze me how trying it can be to raise children.  The differences in their personalities require different parenting techniques and skills with each child.  Although we've had one go through daycare/pre-school in the exact same place as another, we're having different experiences the second go around.  They are all three so different, but I love them all three just the same.  I can't imagine my life without these children.  Although there are times when I just want to throw my hands up and shout "I Quit", those are the times when they will come and put their little arms around my legs and tell me how much they love me or ask if they can crawl in my lap.  This is what being a mommy is all about.  It is full of ups and downs.  The rewards, and learning are endless!

Disney Releases Two of Our Favorites to DVD!

One of our newest favorite Disney Channel shows is Sonny With A Chance starring Demi Lovato. Since we saw her in concert, Shelby has been a huge fan. I must admit that I love to hear her sing. This girl has got some pipes! The show is funny and I think Chad Dillon Cooper is pretty cute too. Although Shelby just groans when I say it, I guess maybe I'm a tad bit too old for him. The DVD, Sonny With A Chance: Sonny's Big Break comes with four episodes of Disney's hit television show as well as a never before seen bonus world premiere episode: Sonny in the Middle. Other bonus features include: Backstage Disney – Demi Lovato Audition Tape, A Bonus Short – “Mackenzie Falls – Season Finale Cliffhanger” – an all original online series starring Sterling Knight A/K/A "Chad Dillon Cooper". This DVD is available now from Disney.

Also available on Disney DVD, The Suite Life on Deck: Anchors Away! The DVD contains four episodes, including one with Ashley Tisdale reprising her role as Maddie from the original series, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. This DVD is packed with Bonus Features including, bonus episodes “Mulch Ado About Nothing” and “International Dateline”, Debby On Deck – The guys interview Debby, the newest member of the cast. The Floating Premiere – 10 minutes of jam-packed fun at the star studded premiere. Fortunately both of the older kids love this show as much as the original. Tyler has always enjoyed "Zack and Cody". Of course, Shelby loves it as well so it's a win - win show for me. Hurray for having a DVD now to watch on the go! Thanks Disney for this one! Keep 'em coming.

I Can't Be Wordless Today...

Normally I would put up a Wordless Wednesday post since it's Tuesday night. But, I just can't be wordless today. I am posting this photo (taken by one of the teachers after she woke from her nap) of my baby girl who started daycare today. She did well. Of course she did do a bit of crying, and so did her mommy. But, when I picked her up she was playing and smiling! She saw me and did not cry, but came to me and waved and then turned to wave at her teacher. She was happy and playful all afternoon. I was worried that she'd be clingy and cranky tonight, but she was exactly the opposite. This might end up being easier (on her) than I thought it would be. As for me...well, I'm still adjusting. If it were not for the wonderful staff at her daycare, I don't know what I would've done today. Those girls are the greatest. They kept me sane today. Thanks so much to Jennifer for the pictures and FB updates. ya girl!

We Did It! Well...Sort Of...

Today was the big day. Emily started her first day of daycare today. She is at the same place as her big brother, Tyler. She has started at a younger age than the other two children did. The other two stayed with Memaw for a big part of their lives before moving to a daycare. This time Emily was with me up until now (1 year old). Since we own our own business, she's been coming to the office with me since she was only a couple of weeks old. Now that she is walking, she is not satisfied being in her playpen or a walker. It's not fair to keep her there either. So, we've opted to put her in a daycare. I struggled with this decision all weekend. I have had my doubts about taking away the security of her bottle and paci before such a change in her life. She did well this weekend without them. She slept all night, in the comforts of her own mattresses.

I dropped her off this morning and she did not cry (while I was there). I cannot say the same for myself. I did cry, but I kept it together and didn't completely melt down due to the fact that I still had Shelby (my 1st grader) in the van. She did say that it was weird looking in the van and not seeing Emily in there. I asked her if she was trying to make me cry. She just smiled.

The daycare just called and asked if she had a bottle or paci. I told her that she was not taking one now. She said, okay. I asked if she was okay and she said that she was fine, she's just going to need some time to adjust. She did not cry when I first left, it was when she realized that I was not coming back, I guess that made it tough on her. I'm sure tomorrow will be the hardest, because she will know what is going on. Now, I am crying...now I am a mess. I have butterflies in my tummy and I'm worried that my baby girl will cry all day longing for her mommy. I just want to go scoop her up and smother her in kisses. That's what's best for me, but not her. I know she's in good hands, just sad that she's not in mine.

How To Lose A Guy, Deluxe Edition

Anything starring the hottie, Matthew McConaughey is going to be A+ in my book. Throw some Kate Hudson in the mix, and you've got yourself an instant hit! This is one movie that I can watch with my husband and we both enjoy! I get some eye candy, so does he and we can both relate to the story line. Now available from Paramount Home Entertainment: How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Deluxe Edition. Deluxe Edition DVD and Blu-ray feature new bonus material including “How to Make a Movie in 2 Years”, “Why the Sexes Battle” and “Girls Night Out”, as well as previously released features including commentary by director Donald Petrie, deleted scenes with optional commentary by Petrie and a music video of Keith Urban’s “Somebody Like You”.

Birthdays, Needles, and Milestones, Oh My!!

This has been a week full of birthdays and milestones in the CrAzY Working Mom household. Emily celebrated her first birthday on Wednesday. She visited her pediatrician on Friday for her one year check up which, unfortunately included a round of immunization shots. She was stuck four times. She was a trooper, though and handled them very well. On the same day that she got her shots, I decided that we might as well get rid of the bottle and paci all at once. I am definitely a glutton for punishment, or a horrible mother...maybe both!

I do have good reason for these decisions, however. Emily will begin daycare tomorrow so I thought that it would be easier to break her from the bottle and paci before starting. This way she can get settled into a routine there without having to change it in a few weeks to go through this. I am trying to make things a bit easier for all involved.

She has done very well with the bottle, which I thought she would. She's been drinking from a sippy cup for a while now. She's drinking juice very well. She doesn't really care much for milk, so I am not pushing it too hard. We'll just have to compensate for the lack of it in her diet. The pacifier, however has been a bit more difficult. Thanks to the folks at Babybazzle, we had a clip to keep her paci handy at all times. It was not only great for me because I wasn't on my hands and knees searching for that paci all of the time, but she also became accustomed to having it right at her fingertips whenever she wanted it. The first night she did well without it, but the second night was not as easy. I have began to question my decision a bit, but what's done is done and hopefully in the end it will be better for everyone.

Saturday we celebrated Emily's 1st birthday with friends and family at McDonald's playland. The kids had a great time and Emily got lots of great gifts, including a real metal drum set from her Aunt, my sister in law. I am sure she realizes that Christmas is just right around the corner and she does have two boys, so it will be time for some sweet payback! Saturday was also my mother's 50th birthday. Since we were celebrating Emily's 1st birthday on her 50th, we celebrated her 50th on Sunday. Did you get that?! *snicker*

Today is my sister, Mandy's 30th birthday. Don't tell anyone I told you that she's 30, though. Of course she thinks that she's an old woman now. *LOL* She's having a hard time dealing with the "number" this year. I hope you have a very Happy Birthday, sister. I LOVE you to the top of the moon and back. I hope your day is grand and I hope you will always know how much you mean to me and how much my kids (and I) love you!!!

Fun Children's DVDs

I remember back in the day, my niece watched hours of Barney, the purple dinosaur. My older two children never did watch much Barney but little Emily seems to enjoy it. Barney: Sharing is Caring is now available on DVD from Lionsgate & HIT Entertainment. The Emmy Award-winning series Barney & Friends is one of the top-rated preschool shows today. In this DVD, Barney and his friends donate their old toys in a toy drive through magic and storytelling and sing-along song. In this DVD, the children learn that generosity can bring a smile to every face. I love the message that this DVD teaches. Did you know that Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez were once cast members on Barney? You can catch them in this warm-hearted fun. You can find out more about this DVD, and all things Barney related at Barney.com

Bob The Builder has been around for ages, but my son Tyler who just turned four has discovered the wonders of Bob and his machine team. The DVD Bob The Builder: Call In The Crew comes with a collectible toy vehicle. Tyler has played with this things since ripping it out of the box. In this DVD Bob, Muck, Scoop, and Roley build a house, open a new cafe, fix an old gate and help a family of ducks. It also comes with special features such as "Lofty the Painter" Game and "Skip's Chute Rescue" Game. Bob The Builder teaches that teamwork, positive thinking, and problem-solving equip future builders with the right Can-Do attitude to tackle any project!

We've just been introduced to Fireman Sam, the only children's firefighter-themed show. Fireman Sam is a resourceful and brave fireman who tackles problems big and small on this DVD, Fireman Sam: Help Is Here! In his first ever CGI adventure, he teaches children about fire safety and fire prevention. This DVD includes five adventures including Paper Plane Down and Hearts On Fire. I was a bit skeptical of this one being as I had not heard of Fireman Sam before. He originated in the UK and made his US debut on PBS. But, after watching it with Tyler, we both enjoyed it and learned a bit about fire safety along the way. Fireman Sam is avaialble on DVD from Lionsgate.

Looking at the Sky on Friday #40

The weather here in central Arkansas has been perfect! We have had beautiful skies and cooler temperatures. I've been fighting the urge to drag out the "fall/Halloween" decor. I usually wait until after September ends, but I'm getting the itch to get it out and begin to scatter it around. I did actually re-do my flower arrangement in my bathroom. It was a spring arrangement, now it's fall with sunflowers, pumpkins, browns, and yellows. I am getting into the fall mode. I'm ready for fall. I always love to see spring and summer arrive, but I am excited when the seasons change as well. I can't wait to capture some fall skies in the coming weeks! Happy Friday, everyone!Powered by MckLinky

Happy 1st Birthday, Emily Grace!

Happy 1st Birthday to my little star, Emily Grace!
Mommy ♥ you, baby girl!!!

New Releases from Disney DVD

Now available from Disney DVD, "Pete's Dragon - High Flying Edition". This movie made it's debut the same year as this CrAzY Working Mom, in 1977! It combines animation and live action film. I don't remember ever watching this film as a child, but watching it with my own children was fun! I remember blaming my "imaginary friends" when things mysteriously happened at my home, and although my children have not caught on to this tactic yet, they thought it was refreshing to see it happen in Pete's Dragon. Although, it actually was the "invisible" Elliot the dragon causing all sorts of problems for Pete, an orphan. This is a classic uplifting tale filled with loads of comedy, soaring musical numbers, and who else, but Mickey Rooney himself?! DVDs are available now, so don't miss your chance to add this one to the Disney Classics on your shelves!

The folks at Walt Disney Company have introduced a new motion picture label, DisneyNature. The first film to come from this new label is "Earth" narrated by James Earl Jones. Now available on Blu-ray™ Hi-Def and DVD DisneyNature's Earth is a trio of unforgettable stories. In March of the Penguin style, this movie follows three "families" through nature. Since I am a huge fan of the Discovery Channel, this movie was right up my alley. Although sometimes reality can be a bit harsh, I enjoyed the three intertwined stories of the Arctic Polar Bear and her cubs, the herd African Elephants, and the humpback whale and her calf. Bonus features include behind the scenes making of the movie. This movie is now available for your viewing pleasure!
