D-I-V-O-R-C-E Que the music

I have been torn in deciding whether or not to post about this here. I have ultimately decided to give a small piece of my opinion on the subject and try to be objective. I watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 last week in tears when it was finally announced that they were going to be divorced. I was so sad for the Gosselin family. I am sad for the children, and for the couple who is parting ways. Say what you want about Kate or Jon, it's still a sad situation. This week's episode took us back into happier times, reliving the past 10 years with the Gosselin family. Seeing the couple sit in the same interview chair and laugh with one another while discussing the antics of their children was refreshing to me. That is why I watched the show.

I am sure that the show has had a profound effect on not only their relationship but also their lives. Those children know nothing of life outside of TV cameras and paparazzi. I can say that's sad, but I am to blame. I watch the show. I feel like I know the children because I have watched them grow up. So, those television cameras are there for my benefit. As far as the paparazzi go, I don't read tabloids. I believe in boundaries. I don't think that those tabloid photographers have any. They cross the lines every day photographing families and trying to get people at their worst moment to generate a headline.

With a heavy heart
I wish the Gosselin family all of the best. There are no online greeting cards for healing the broken hearts in divorce. It's sad to see a family split up, no matter what the reasons are behind it all. I can only hope that in the end the decisions that have been made are what's best for the kids because ultimately that's what really matters.

Where does creative control begin for a young girl?

As I mentioned in a previous post, Shelby my 6yo daughter) got her hair cut last week.  It is a really cute cut on her and she really likes it and so do we.  It was mentioned by Travis in a comment, "But the one thing I don't understand is why parents of small girls won't let them cut it as short as they want. It's only hair and it grows."

Linda also had this to say, "As a mom with two daughters, I kind of have to agree with Travis on this one - especially considering that with both of my girls their hair always grew out really fast. There are so many cute haircuts out there that are short and very easy to take care of but I would be willing to bet that Dad likes Shelby's hair a little long, right? Most dads do!"

This got me to thinking back to when I was a girl and wanted my hair cut and my step-dad wouldn't allow it. He had the old school mentality that little girls should have long hair. He always told us that when we were grown we could do as we please with our hair but as long as we "lived under his roof" we would have long hair.  While Brien said that he didn't want Shelby's hair any shorter than shoulder length, I think that he could probably be swayed pretty easily otherwise.

I have always been pretty lenient with Shelby on her hair. She has never really wanted it "short" until last week after my Dad took my little sister while he had her (unbeknownst to her mother) and had her hair all cut off. While the style looks really cute on her, I knew that it wouldn't fit Shelby's hair texture so I wanted her to just cut it to her shoulders and told her that we'd talk about getting it cut shorter if she chose to do so.  Her hair is very thick and coarse, so the short, stacked style would be a bouffant on her.

When we got home and she washed it and we styled it she totally fell in love with her new hair cut. She actually has quite a bit of body and wave to her hair and with it's current length she can get a little bit of  "curl" to it with some styling product.  She decided that for now she didn't want it to be any shorter.

So, this leaves me to ponder the fact. How do you feel about cutting a girl's hair, namely your daughter's hair. Do you, did you, or will you give your children creative control over their hair styles, color, and cut? At what age do you think this is appropriate?  It's not that I didn't allow Shelby to not get her hair cut short.  I just postponed the inevidable.  I am still up in the air on how I feel about this one since I was once a little girl who wanted her hair short and was not allowed.  I am looking forward to hearing your comments on this subject.

Michaelson refuses to pay causing a chain of events that include family dysfunction, lust, betrayel, and ultimately revenge. Hang on for the ride with this one. It only gets better. This DVD is rated R, so don't watch it with the kiddos. If you're looking for a good movie night with your spouse or a group of friends, this one will definitely spark conversation it's over!

Manic Monday - Rock

This was the scene back in March when we traveled just down toe road to Mountain View, Arkansas for the weekend. It was such a beautiful weekend. You might remember a Ruby Tuesday post I did where Tyler did a nose dive from the monkey bars and fell face first into the rocks below..  That incident also occurred while we were in beautiful Mountain View, Arkansas.   Thankfully, the search for river rock ended well.  They both had a bag full of shells, rock, and other odd sticks and what not.  I loved this shot because of the depth of the photo.  The beauty of the scenery just seems to go on and on just as the search for rocks would have if it were up to the children.  They enjoyed the rock search.  I enjoyed photographing them and Brien enjoyed lounging in the boat enjoying some peace and quiet while waiting on us.  I'm not too sure he didn't catch a bit of sleep while he waited.  Although relaxing in Las Vegas hotels after a fun night of gambling is fun, but I just don't know that anything can beat the peaceful, serene, and relaxing setting we enjoyed on this beautiful day.

Where have you peed?!

Yes, I realize that my blog has quickly gone "to pot" with all of the posts of restroom talk as of late but I wanted to share this story.

This morning as I searched through Tyler's closet for some clothes for him to wear I smelled a strong urine smell. I asked him if he'd peed in his closet last night. He said that Oscar peed in his closet. Obviously this was NOT an animal (one of the four legged persuasion, anyhow).

Fast forward to our arrival to the house this afternoon. I had forgotten about the smell. I am preparing dinner when Tyler brings me a play cell phone and asks why his phone was wet. I hold out my hand and ask him where it was. He says it came from his closet. I immediately flashed back to this morning's conversation and sniffed the phone. Oh yes, it was covered in urine! I put the phone in the sink, washed my hands and grabbed the floor cleaner and told him to show me where the phone was. I sniffed all around and could not find anything else that had this strong smell. I was a bit perplexed because I realized that with urine dripping from the thing there had to be a pool of it somewhere.

I threw away the phone, scrubbed my hands and went back to dinner preperation and was once again interrupted by my three year old son. He said that his toy truck and four wheeler were "stinky". I smelled them and said show me where you got them. He took me to his room and pointed to a small plastic drawer that slides in and out of his toy box. THIS was the culprit. I had found my small pool of urine that he claimed was in the closet. Obviously this was not the work of a dog.

My guess is that he woke up in the middle of the night and probably half asleep needed to pee, so he relieved himself in the toy container thinking that he was in the restroom. I think that everyone has probably done this at some point in time. I know that once Shelby peed in her floor on some toys one night. Hubby (when he was a kid of course) peed in the closet. Myself, I don't remember peeing in an odd place, but I'm sure I did. I'll have to ask my mother.  What strange places have YOU peed?!

Shelby's New Do

Shelby got her hair cut on Wednesday.  She wanted it cut "short" because of the heat.  She compromised with this style.  It's not as short as she wanted but as you can tell by the smile on her face, she's pretty happy with it!

I shot this photo Sunday morning, after the house fire behind our home. You can still see some of the smoke billowing in the trees. I walked outside to let the dog take care of his morning business and was mesmerized by this sight! I stood there admiring it for a while and then realized I needed to rush in to grab my camera because this was a perfect sight for a "LATSOF" post!!! I am often greeted by sunsets but rarely do I experience a sunrise. Usually Oscar goes out front, but I wanted to check up on the fire so we went out back. I am so glad I did! I can't wait to see what you all come up with this week. Don't forget to sign Mr Linky after you leave a comment so everyone can visit you. Thank you all so much for playing!

Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen = A++

Last night was a movie night out for us.  On the big screen was Transformers 2, Revenge of the Fallen.  Let me just say this:  WOW!  This was a great movie.  We took my 3 year old son and 6 year old daughter to see it.  The movie is rated PG13.  It had a little bit stronger language than I prefer for my kiddos to hear.  Two new characters, "The Twins"  Skids & Mudflap added a very light-hearted comedic relief in the movie, although they were the source of most of the dirty talk.

Since the movie opened on a Wednesday night I thought we could take the kiddos and it would't be as crowded as a Friday night.  Unfortunately that was not the case.  We got to the theater fifteen minutes until showtime and it was a packed house.  We ended up sitting on the third row which the kids LOVED...my neck, no not so much!

The plot had a great mixture of comedy and drama as well as action, loads and loads of action.  A lot of the old characteristics of what I remember of the cartoon were brought into this one, such as more than one transformer combining to make a super transformer.  There are some sad parts in this one, like when Sam goes off to college and his mom (and eventually Dad) get very emotional.  Okay, so that wasn't sad but there were seriously some emotional scenes for me but I won't spoil the plot for you here.  There were many more funny parts in this one than it's predecessor.  Sam's Mom eats some "organic" cookies while dropping Sam off at college which ends in her getting high.  This ends in quite a funny scene for the viewers but very uncomfortable for Sam and his father.

There is a whole slew of new characters in this film.  Among my favorites were the affore mentioned twins and Wheelie, a blue radio-controlled monster truck.  When you hear the voices of  these three characters keep in mind that they are all the same person.  His name is Tom Kenny.  You might recognize him if you have children from his work on a little program on Nickelodean about a square pants wearing sponge.  I kept thinking that I knew that voice from somewhere but couldn't put my finger on it.

Overall it was a great movie with an intriguing plot.  By the end of the movie, I was on pins and needles to find out what happened.  I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the first one.  If you haven't seen the first one, I would recommend doing so before you see this one, or some things might not make as much sense.  This movie was definitely an A+ for me.  Go see it, let me know what you think when you do!

A Dad and His Son

Things a dad and his son can do that a mother and her daughter can't...pee in the same toilet at the same time.  Tonight as I passed by the restroom, I noticed my husband and son both hovered around the potty.  I chuckled as I thought to myself, that is something that Shelby and I will never be able to do together even if my butt weren't so big

Hog Wild News

A stretch of interstate 430 connecting Little Rock and North Little Rock, Arkansas was shut down early Monday morning due to...wait for it...HOGS!   No, I'm not talking about the two wheeled hogs that leather clad "Chopper" fans ride I'm talking about the stinky, oinking, curly tailed, four legged kind.  The irony of this story is that Arkansas football mascot just so happens to be a hog!  90 hogs @ 800lbs each sounds like breakfast to me, especially in this heat!

Ruby Tuesday - Youngest Fan

This is my little Emily Grace who is 9.5 months old. Her big sister loves the Jonas Brothers. I recorded their interview with Larry King last week and as we watched the DVR playback, Emily was intrigued by the boys. I thought it was pretty cute watching her. As you can tell, she also has an infatuation with the Wii-motes (remote controls for the Nintendo Wii game). She likes to drag them out and play with them. If you'll notice there are several red things in this photo. What do you spot?!

On a fun note, I won tickets to a concert today by simply Tweeting! How cool is that?! Thanks to @LRFamily for the opportunity. Shelby will love seeing Demi Lovato & David Archuleta! We'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post them here. :) To all of my Arkansas peeps, you should be following them via Twitter so you can win next time! Thanks, again for the opportunity, @LRFamily!

Tyler's New Sock Monkey

Tyler was a happy camper on Friday! He received something he's been waiting on. He got a new sock monkey from genuinemonkeez.com. He is absolutely smitten with this hand knitted plush toy with magnetized hands and feet. He's been hanging "Jasper" from any and every place that you can imagine. I even caught him trying to climb on the table to hang the monkey from the chandelier. I explained to him that his new friend is not allowed on the chandelier either! I love this product because Tyler has never been a big stuffed animal fan. He's rather play with Hot Wheels or Motorcycles so to see him cuddle with something so cute was really fun. I had a hard time getting him to slow down enough for a picture. I had taken about 10 before I got the one you see posted. He finally gave in and said, "Mommy I will smile for you". This is what I got. You can tell the smile is genuine, can't you?! The most fun about this sock monkey is that I can buy accessories and outfits for him as well! I have found the perfect one for Tyler's monkey...a cowboy outfit! This sock monkey is a perfect monkey for my little monkey!!!

Manic Monday - Pop

We had dinner Saturday night at The Olive Garden. Just as we got our salad and bread sticks, Shelby proclaimed that she needed to use the restroom. Of course if one child needs to go, everyone at the table must go as well, even though some just returned from the restroom with their father. We all exited the dining area and entered the restrooms. The girls each claimed their own stall and I took Tyler with me into the handicapped stall. I've found over the years that when you have to potty with a little one it's just easier to go into a big stall, even though the toilet is taller.

Tyler: Mommy, I don't need you to go with me. I can do it by myself.

Me: Well, I am just going to go in here and I'll stand by the door to make sure that nobody comes in on you.

Tyler: Do I really have to use this old lady toilet?

I thought I was going to die right there. I could hear every lady in the restroom cracking up and I thought my sides were going to pop open right there from laughing so hard.

Just because your kid ruined your movie night doesn't mean you need to ruin ours!

We've had a whirlwind of a day. It was the last day that my 10 year old sister Jeannene will be spending with us. We are leaving out early in the morning to meet up with her mom at a halfway point between here and Houston. We decided that we'd take all of the kiddos to eat a nice dinner at The Olive Garden and go watch a movie. Emily is staying with my MIL because it'd be too tough having her in a vehicle for 10 hours (5 there and 5 back). Dinner was fabulous. Brien and I had a new dish, Lasagna Rollatini with Chicken which is described in their menu as: oven-baked lasagna rolls stuffed with four Italian cheeses, topped with sautéed chicken, spinach and roma tomatoes in a fontina cheese sauce. It was good, but lacked a little something for me. I think maybe it should've had a little more flavor in the actuall stuffed rolls. The chicken with the sauce and spinach was excellent, however. The girls had fettuccine alfredo. You can never go wrong with this classic paired with the Garden's yummy breadsticks and salad. Tyler ordered Raviolis and quickly procclaimed as he bit into the first one that they were NOT real raviolis. Why, you ask? First off, they were round and not square. Secondly the most famous chef in the world did not make them...Misseur Boyardee! Yes, my kids LOVE the mini beef raviolis in a can. Anytime I ask them what they want to eat, no matter what time of day it is this is what they ask for. I must admit that I sampled his ravioils and I wasn't that impressed either.

The movie of the night was at the Tandy 10 theater where you can get in for a buck fifty. That's a steal. We watched Disney's remake of the classic Race to Witch Mountain starring the man, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. I love this guy. I remember watching him back in the day on WWE Wrestling. First and foremost, he is HOT...and he's a pretty good actor. *LOL* Since this was a family film he kept his shirt on throughout, but there was one point where he was climbing through some sort of incenerator tunnel where we saw an itty bitty bit of belly. It was enough to distract me for just one moment from the family beside us that was harbouring a screaming baby, two babbling youngsters and a father with an obviously unsilenceable cell phone. Why is it that no matter where we sit in the movie theater, we will always be very near a screaming baby and a cell phone?! It just never fails. Why do people bring screaming babies to a movie??? I remember taking Tyler to a movie and he began to scream, I exited the theater and sat out in the lobby with him until the movie was over. Just because my movie experience was ruined, it didnt' mean that I had to ruin every one elses, right?! Who's with me on this one? Can I get an Amen, please!!! Anyhow, the movie was good. It was a great family movie and kept everyone's attention. It was action packed for hubby. "The Rock" for me, err...ummmm...I mean, lots of drama and comedy for me. The kids enjoyed the cool special effects, like when the girl made things float in the air and read the mind of the dog, "Junkyard". We'll definitely add it to our DVD collection when it is released in August.

We got home at bedtime. Since we are planning to leave very early in the morning (around 6ish) I got all of the kiddos clothes laid out and ready. The van is ready to roll out, DVD players ready and movies in tow (THANK GOODNESS for this invention!!!). I laid down with a million thoughts running through my head which usually happens nowadays so I got up and logged on. I began to hear sirens outside. We live fairly far outside of the city, so it's unusual to hear sirens in our neck of the woods. I heard a couple and then some more. Finally upon hearing more sirens, I hopped up to investigate the source. I began to panic a bit wondering if it was cops chasing someone. As I opened the front door, I saw a passing firetruck. I watched him go on front of my house and around the curve beside my house and then the sirens stopped. More panic set in and fear struck as I walked out into the yard and realized that the siren had ended behind my home! The house behind us was on fire!!! As you can see from the picture, the fence is surrounding my back yard. The fire is not that far from us. I could feel the heat radiating from the source as I snapped this picture. Unfortunately I am no photographer, so I couldn't capture a good photo of the blaze in the night. This was after the fire department had been working on it a while. Thankfully it was an abandoned house and no one was hurt. The fire fighters are working dilligently to subside the blaze due to the fact that there are two houses VERY close in proximity! I pray that the firemen accomplish this task swfitly and without any troubles of their own.

Now that I have finished this blog post, maybe I can get back to bed and try to catch some Z's before the alarm starts buzzing in a few hours!

Camera Critters

This was the scene last week when we went with the kiddos horseback riding. The girls and Tyler all had smiles just like this almost the entire ride! We had great fun and the weather was pretty nice. We got rained on a bit, but it was a welcomed cool rain. The critter in this photo is Remedy. She did a great job and has been on many trail rides with the Black Family. We're fortunate to have access to such beautiful horses and wonderful trails. To see more critters, click the graphic above.

Conversations with Tyler

In preparation of a long drive I request that the children go to the restroom before we leave out. Tyler goes into the restroom and I follow along behind him where our conversation begins.

Tyler: Mommy, I don't wanna pee!

Me: Well, why don't you just try. It's a long way to the water park and I don't want to have to stop.

Tyler: But, Mommy my pee is like gas, like you put in your truck. When I pee out all of my gas it makes me not run fast anymore!

Me: Well, we can fill up your tank on the way there, silly boy!

I'm Overrun with Insurgents!

Okay, before the haters hit the comment button, this is by no means posted here poking fun at any government agency, political party, or the like! I came across this today and chuckled. This cartoon might have been drawn with other intentions, but as a working mom with a 6 and 3 year old, and 9 month old in the house I can relate! Tyler still goes to daycare "pre-school". He does not know Shelby is out of school and goes with me to the office or he would refuse to go to school. Yes, I know this will probably be the only time I can fool him but right now it just has to be this way. Shelby goes to the office with me daily as does 9 month old Emily. Tyler goes to pre-school while I get what I can accomplished. For the last two weeks we've had an extra hand because my 10 year old sister has been visiting from Texas. It's been great having her here. She's such a big help with the younger kids but, it does entail more laundry, food, etc.

I keep asking myself...is summer over yet?! My how life changes. 20 years ago I couldn't want for summer to begin and now I can't wait for it to end. No, seriously I do enjoy the time I get to spend with my kids. But, it's just a bit more hectic than what I am used to. When school starts back, Emily will go to daycare with her big brother. She's getting too big for me to keep at the office now. So while I'm working at doing things like invoicing, payroll, or looking for the best insurance prices from bcbsnc, she's crawling and pulling up on things. She's getting into everything. I know it will be a difficult transition for both of us, but it is something that I've wrestled with for a while and the decision has been made. I fully trust the staff at the daycare that my son attends. They are an amazing group of ladies and I know that my babies are in great hands with them. It makes me feel good to have this feeling. I am also looking forward to the freedom that it will bring me. For the last 9 months, I've had her with me at the office and it's tough having her all day and then coming home at night with her and the other two. There's no down time until they are in bed (which is when I am writing this post)! Maybe I can join Curves again, maybe I can join weight watchers, maybe...we'll see. I might just mope around missing my baby and wondering where the time has gone.

Ruby Tuesday - Princess on Ice

The beautiful red headed Disney Princess, Ariel at a recent Disney on Ice production.  She was beautiful and graceful.  I enjoyed watching her skate as her long red hair flowed behind her.  Unfortunately some of the other skaters were not as graceful as the beautiful princess...
One of the skaters who is supposed to anchor her as she is poised lifted in the air as though she's swimming in the water fell just as they were about to hoist her into the air.  I snapped this photo in hopes of getting Ariel air bound, and got a shot of the poor guy floor bound.  I was lucky enough to catch this shot later on in this show.
I am so glad that he did not drop her!  Prince Eric was holding her one handed as Sebastian the Lobster dances at his side.  If you've never attended a Disney on Ice production, you're really missing out.  It really is beautiful and fascinating entertainment!  Just make sure to be prepared for the prices...they get you coming in and going out!

Manic Monday - Shower

Previous MMs ~ The Manic Monday Master
This is what happens when we have showers in Arkansas!
Yeah, maybe there was a bit of wind associated with this shower.
This poor tree couldn't withstand the wind after all of the saturating rain.
This tree landed on our neighbor's storage building next door.

Horseback Riding and Modeling

We're recovering from an afternoon of horseback riding with the kids. We had a fun time.  The weather was nice, although we got rained on a bit, it was just enough to keep us cool.  We saw some deer and beautiful countryside. The horses were all well behaved.  Pictured from left to right are Jeannene (and Tyler behind her) on Sierra, Me on Delilah, and Shelby on Remedy.  I explained to Shelby as we rode that we are lucky to get to enjoy such beauty and nature because there are people that live their whole life and not get to ride a horse and see such beautiful sights.  They should be thankful to be so lucky!  I've uploaded the rest of the photos to Facebook (as always) and you can find them here.  I have solidified the username crazyworkingmom (WHOO HOO) @ Facebook.

Brien and I enjoyed a weekend without the older two kids.  Emily was a joy on her own.  She is really coming into her own and her little personality is just so amazing.  I am so intrigued by the things that she learns daily and how much she changes.  She is saying, "My Momma" now and it is the cutest thing!  She is also a model now.  She's featured on Girls Girls Girls, a wonderful Etsy site to get hand made hair accessories.  You can click over to see her modeling two items:  here and here (this is my FAVE accessory).  I'm hosting a giveaway right now so if you want to win $20 worth of merchandise for this site, click the picture at the top of the page to take you to the giveaway post.  You'll be glad you did!

Camera Critters - Life in Arkansas

I shot this photo two weekends ago in Hector, Arkansas when we were on a four wheeler trip. This beautiful butterfly was going about it's business and I happened to have my Canon in hand and I was able to snap it . I was so thankful that we got to spend the weekend exploring the countryside. I love being outdoors and fortunately we live in a state that makes that possible because Arkansas has beautiful country. While other people might be out exploring moving companies New York I was enjoying the wonders of nature in Arkansas! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Disney Classics on DVD

Our family loves Disney. Most of the time when our television is on, we're watching the Disney channel. We also have a huge collection of Disney movies from the new releases to the classics. I was thrilled to find out that Disney has released a new collection of the classic short films such as Mickey and the Beanstalk, The Prince & the Pauper, Wind in the Willows, The Three Little Pigs, The Reluctant Dragon, and The Tortoise and the Hare. Each DVD is packed with classics such as Paul Bunyan, The Ugly Duckling, and Johnny Appleseed.  Believe it or not, the kids were just as excited to watch these classic short films as I was.  Many of them brought back great childhood memories for me and I hoped that we were creating memories of our own while watching them.  These DVDs are available now from Disney so go out and grab yours and get to making memories for you and your family!

Friday Night Movie Night

Since my loving sister (THANK YOU!!!) took the two older kids as well as my visiting younger (10 year old) sister for the weekend, Brien and I were home with baby Emily. We had a pretty rough storm early in the afternoon, but after it passed, it was a quiet night. We decided that we'd just veg out and watch movies. It's a rare occasion around our house to watch a movie uninterrupted and after spending a day at the office researching bathroom safety products for an upcoming remodel for a customer in addition to doing some invoicing we were both ready for an evening of rest and relaxation.

We watched Taken starring Liam Neeson as a former spy with "a special set of skills" who sets out to hunt down and kill the men who took his daughter. This one is an edge of your seat, thriller folks. I started out watching this movie half tired thinking I would never make it through the opening previews because I was so worn out. As the movie began and I became entangled in the plot I quickly realized that I would not fall asleep during this one. Brian Mills is a former secret agent for the government who is estranged from his wife and daughter. They guilt him into signing a consent form so that his 17 year old daughter can go to Paris with a friend and spend the summer visiting museums there. Shortly after their arrival, the girls are kidnapped. Fortunately, Brian was on the phone with his daughter and critical information was passed on to him that helps him to track down where she could be located. This movie is intense and gripping. As a mother, I sympathized with this character knowing that I would go to the ends of the earth to get back my baby girl as well! If you have children you'll especially love this one, but I think that even if you didn't and you enjoy a good suspense thriller this is definitely one to add to your collection. It is available NOW on DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. This one comes highly recommended from this CrAzY Working Mom! It is, however rated R so make sure that you wait until the kiddos are in bed before watching.

This was the scene over my house last Saturday as a local crop duster performed his task, dusting crops. My 3 year old son LOVED his aerial stunts and I must admit that seeing him fly so close overhead was pretty fun for me as well. I thought of our own LATSOF friend, Ralph as I snapped these photographs. As you can tell, it was a beautiful day for flying. I think that the pilot probably saw a little boy jumping up and down and a mommy with a Cannon in hand as he whisked by because he seemed to be flying just a bit lower each time he got close to our home. What fun! I look forward to seeing what you all come up with this week. I just want to take a minute to say thank you for all of your support in this meme. I never dreamed I would have so many people playing along when I was shunned from another sky photo meme. I am so proud to be a part of such a fun meme with many old and new friends! Thank you so much. I look forward to many more Fridays of looking at the sky with you all.

For Mommies With Daughters

Hello, my name is Tisha and I am a mommy with a baldie! Yes, I know the first step on the road to recovery is to admit that you have a problem. I know that I have a problem, but I just can't help myself. I ♥ to buy bows for my little bald baby. As a working mother of three, unfortunately I am always on the go. I think that bows are adorable and I love the added accessory not only on Emily but on Shelby as well. When Emily was born bald, I was devastated that I could not put little bows in her hair but as I scoured the internet I was thrilled to find that I could buy head wraps and then just purchase interchangeable bows with alligator clips to put on the wraps. There are lots of places out there to get bows and it is easy to spend a lot of money on them before you know it. I knew when I purchased that I wanted to buy handmade. The best place to get handmade items is, of course Etsy. I was lucky to come across Tanika's Etsy site, Girls Girls Girls and I have been hooked every since! She has some of the cutest handmade bows that I have ever seen. Her designs are unique and very well made. Being a mother herself, she designed and created the bows for her daughters. Unfortunately, mom's like me depend on mom's like her to do the same for our children. For her, I am grateful!

I have had the opportunity to receive a Strawberry Shortcake bow with an alligator clip and red crocheted beanie cap. Tanika describes this bow on her site as follows: "This is a triple layered bow with a mix of red, pink, white, and red and white plaid print. Centered on this beautiful piece is a classic Strawberry Shortcake cap." This bow has gotten more complements than any other that she wears, especially with this adorable beanie cap!

I've ordered many things from Girls Girls Girls and have not been disappointed. Emily wears a bow any time we go out and I am always asked where I get them. I keep the website handy so that I can tell everyone how great Tanika's site is! One of my favorite things is that she has a flat rate shipping. $2 will get any item or items shipped to you anywhere in the US! This is a deal that you just can't beat! Tanika has graciously offered up $20 in free products from her shop for one of my readers! You heard me right, you can win these beautiful, handmade designs easily. All you have to do is hop over to Girls, Girls, Girls over at Etsy.com and choose your favorite. Leave it in a comment here. A winner will be selected at random and Tanika will ship your favorite product(s) directly to you! It doesn't get any easier than that!!

The contest will end at midnight on Friday, June 26, 2009. One winner will be chosen at random. Please make sure that your profile links to a valid e-mail address if you do not leave one in the comment. If you are chosen as the winner, you must respond within 36 hours or an alternate winner will be chosen.
